I found and made a copy of this photo in my (ex)companies archives several years ago and just came across it again. Thought you fellas would appreciate it! I don't know a whole lot about the early Chevy trucks, but on the back of the photo was written: "1929 Chevrolet" "Deluxe Panel Delivery" 1½ ton Series" "LQ Chassis" -Bob

It's cool Bob! I don't know much about them either, maybe someone can post more about this type of truck here for us.

Now that you mention it, it does look like a 1/2 ton!

Having once owned a 29 Ton & half, the rear axle had the same 8 lug pattern as 1946 and newer 3/4 & One ton trux. The front of mine had only 4 but could have had 6. My 28 has the same chassis and lug pattern but with wood spoke wheels. Does any one know who made the panel body in the picture since Chev didn't make any half ton bodies till 1931?

Bob, Where was the refridgeration unit? Gene, it would have probably been a big block of ice (with the correct Chevy bowtie imprinted in it) and a lot of sawdust back then, wouldn't it? I think I better put that picture away. The more I look at it, the more It's growing on me. That's always a dangerous sign !! -Bob
