The standard cab (cheapest) models had the small rear window

The large rear glass was a option in all trim levels of 1955-1967 Pickups, However it was most commonly used with the Custom Cab trim levels

I have seen several on larger trucks used as gin pole winch trucks in the oilpatch, there isn't much of a reason to have a large window in a grain truck or a dump truck, but I have seen guys that insisted on having large windows in theirs.

wdoftexas is correct the large window was an option and could be ordered with any cab combination. A dealer once told me that the reason there were so many small windows ordered with custom cabs in the mid sixtys was because campers were so popular and people ordered the small window so they could install a boot between the cab and the camper to make it possible to pass from the cab to the camper.

Ya! If yer a munchkin. :p

They are not so much as rare but limited in numbers and are more sought after.Same with A/C cabs.

Well, all I wanted passing from cab to camper was the cool air from the cab A/C and used a truck inner tube betwen camper and cab as a seal, stuck it in and then aired it up, made a neat seal to keep the cool air in! When did pickup campers first become popular? The first I remember was late 60s or early 70s but the CRS kicks in and Pow! the memory pops off.
