Does anyone know where I can get information, books, instructions or a kit so that I learn how to do the woodgraining on the window trim on my 32 sedan? Thanks John

"information, books, instructions or a kit"....mmmmmmmm.....this may not help John if your not a fellow club member. But there was an article in "our" club mag by a chap who did do his own graining. Turned out ok too, by the pics. It was maybe (if memory serves) 2....yrs. ago? If that! Could somebody jog my memory on this? As it has been done by a "fellow enthusiast".

There are two excellant woodgraining books available through major distributors. They are :The Art of Woodgraining:by Stuart Spencer, publisher Little,Brown ;:Parry's Graining and Marbling:,publisher Blackwell Science.Although published in England, they are available in the U.S.Instead of using laquer as a top coat, two stage automotive clear can be used, and sanded and polished to a hard shine.Hope this helps--Good luck.

Or........if you prefer to have your interior garnish mouldings photoengraved like they were done originally, there is also a company that does the correct photoengraving process. \:D \:D \:D \:D

I had my garnish moulding photoengraved by Jerry Lillian who sold his business to Mike Benton In Patillion Nebraska. When I had the upholstery shop do the Interior of my car, They damaged some of the garnish moulding and I had to have them redone by Mike Benton. The mouldings were redone perfectly, Just like the other ones. Mike does a wonderful job doing the garnish mouldings. My mouldings were done In walnut grain and look the same as when the car rolled off the assembly line. One thing that I did do, Was to bead blast the mouldings and sand Them. As I remember, They did not want me to put primer on the mouldings because their process could have problems of what I would use. The best thing to do, Is call Mike and tell him exactly what mouldings and how many you have to get a close Idea of the cost. \:\) \:\) \:\) \:\)

I have seen samples of this gentlemens work. It is very good. At a recent show he had a pair of 48 Fleetline Aero read window moldings. One was original and the other was reworked. The accuracy was great and the finish was great. His business card states they would have cost $250.00 each to redo. WOW ! He did tell ne he has the old plate process. His name is Classic Woodgraining - Mike Thompson -www.classicwoodgrainingcm. I have neve done business with him only seen his work.
