I just returned a reproduction 38 ivory colored accessory shift knob and cowl vent knob to Chevs of the forties due to poor quality ( the plastic had little air holes all over and the details were rather poor). Does any have a source for quality simular items?
I've done a daily search for several years of 193* chev* which has yielded many nice bargain price items for my 38 coupe project, but have not come across the accessory shift knob.

The knobs that I found years ago were either warped, cracked. or otherwise not usable.The plastic usually didn't last real long.
Does the reproduction have a rubber bushing in the center where it slips on the shift lever?I would consider painting one to matach my '39 color. ('39 was the same except for color).
Without the bushing it will act like an amplifier and you will hear transmission noises that you never know exisisted.
