Factory color detail questions: 1. Was the 1928 Truck manufactured in any other color than dark green?
2. Does anyone know what color the grain bed (with 13" sideboards) was painted?
3. What material was the interior of the cab covered with? Thanks, Maxie.

Hi Maxie, I would strongly urge you to join the VCCA so you can seek help from the Technical Advisor for the early trucks. Application form is available on line or I will gladly send you one.

Hi Maxie I have gone throught some of my 27and 28 truck catalogues and cannot find a body listed with 13" sides most seam to have the 14 1/2" or 16" sides and the colour somtimes depended on the body manufacter I have colour catalogues of green trucks as you describe also two tone blue trucks as well ,the 28 sales data book describes the green trucks as martin-Parry body and the blue as a Hercules body ,in the specifications for the floor it states Long leaf yellow pine 1 1/4" thick-tonged an grooved-protected by nine 1/8" x 1 1/8" slip strips. I hope that this helps you P.S you can purchase a copy of the truck sales date from Garry Wallace

CHAT MASTER
As a member of VCCA I tried contacting TA #8 Robert, about my 28 LP 1 ton for over a month now. Can't seem to make contact. Do you have any update on his status or e-mail address. I used the address listed in the G&D.
Rick

Hello Mike or Jim 1. What material was the interior of the cab covered with? 2. Was the floor of the cab painted wood or coverted with rubber mat? 3. Did the base of the 3 speed transmission as it comes through the floor have a ruber boot on it? Thanks, Maxie

If you visit web page http://la.znet.com/~t1937/Panel.htm , the brochure shows the bodies available on 1927 one ton. (The picture in the ad was NOT available from Chevrolet as it is a half ton chassis with panel body from another manufacturer.) They dropped the Panel body in 1928. No bodies were available on Half ton till 1931. All 1927 - 28 trucks were black. 1929 Ton & half were all Bluebell Blue. I have no info on the Stake body. . . The headliner of my 29 was wood slats, (N0 headliner). The cabs have been cut off my 27s & 28s. . . Good luck.
