The speedometer on my '28 fire truck has never worked. It's time to get it fixed. I have to find out how fast it will go. Do I go to a repair shop locally or does it require someone with special skills and knowledge? Does anyone have a suggestion on where to send it to?

Yep, that should work at least it did for my '28 my wife followed in the Tahoe, barely keeping up! and when I was airing old Klinkerbelle out and blowing the soot out at 55 MPH ,on her speedometer, that was also the indicated speed of the Tahoe. We also have checked the odometer on tours and it is very close within a couple of miles at 100 miles of driving.

Chipper, I have found a lot of good local resources for my restoration but didn't know that about spedo repair. I just used the Services Offered section in last month's Generator & Distributor. Guess it pays to advertise.
New carb isnatlled last night - It was a good day at the Closson's. Maxie

Thanks for the information. I have done the follow thing, I hit 35mph and that seemed to be it. I was afraid to go any faster. How fast do you think it will go. I don't want to blow Sparky up. My requirements for a fire are two days notice, and only one story. I will give Norm a call I want it to work and would like to keep track of my mialage.
