The part number is: 352584 in the April 1, 1928 pocket parts list. In looking at the pictures it is possible the part is shown, but with a different part number. For a schematic of the part look on page 140 of the Feburary 1, 1928 Repair Manual. The part is used only on the AB.

Chip: 1-1/4 inch OD steel pipe; .062 wall thickness; 90º bend; Measures 8-1/2 inches at outer surface of bend. Or, you can purchase a 1929-34 repro from Robert Marx in Wisconsin which I did and it fits fine and looks like it belongs there. (See March, 2005 G&D, page 48, left column, midway down under "Reproduction items"). You can email Bob at bob marxparts Before I purchased the 29-34 elbow, my local muffler shop managed to kink the pipe on each attempt to make one. I wasn't allowed in the shop area but I suspect they didn't have the correct size mandral for their pipe bending machine.

Chip,
You could be right. I've just never seen one with two bends in it. The one that I removed from my latest project resembled a lace curtain, but only had one bend. I guess I'll need to start paying more attention to other 28's when I get a chance.
Oh, by the way, you can make a degree sign (º) by having the "Nun Lock" activated, depress and hold the "Alt" key while typing in 167 on the right side numerical key pad. (for some reason the "Nun Lock" being "on" is requirement in this site). Normal correspondence doesn't require the "Nun Lock" being activated. Some others using the same procedure: (÷ using 246, ¢ using 0162, © using 0169, ® using 0174, ¼ using 172 or 0188, ½ using 171 or 0189, ¾ using 0192). Trivia

Nice to know, º ÷ ¢ © ® ¼ ¼ ½ ½ they all worked except alt 0192 it got À. Now let's see if the new data works ...[alt 0190] ¾! Thanks OLDIE!, I really should get a life....Would anyone like to hire a entry level brain surgeon trainee that can't spell?
Chipper did you try a piece of EMT electrical conduit? Cut it with a chop saw and mig weld it together, I bet Old Push can come up with one. he works cheap!
