Uh, oh. I think you just stepped in it.

Basically, this club has as its one main goal the keeping of the cars all-original (see mission statement), so instead of replacing the 194 motor we would help and encourage you to restore the 194.

Once you join the VCCA and start getting the G&D you will wonder why you ever wanted to swap out that 194.

How about posting some of the information on your car, model, cowl numbers & codes, engine #, etc. Would love to find out some of your car's history.

Gator's answer to that question is much better than mine would have been.

Just for those one or two out there who may have lost his virginity without the benefit of marriage, I will say that the 235 was almost a drop in fit in "My" 32 Roadster and the 1" longer 292 Gimmy was also little problem in my 37 Coupe. The 40 fomoco column shift tranny and clutch wasn't so easy though. However, as a 15 year AARP Member I have now sworn to sin no more.
If you are ever out to the left coast, there is also a certain former VCCA President that still has a 37 Coupe with a ( Gasp ) overhead bent 8 installed. Once a hot rodder , always a hot.
rodder.

Yes Herb, a 292 jimmy, I had a 48 coupe once with a jimmy 270. My cousin uses those Chevy 292 engines in his 62 pullin' truck and it is a hoss, 4 barrel carb, I was thinking one of those and a 700r4 would look good in a 51 Belair, and also pull a standard size Harrison AC compressor, what do you think? I guess a sin is something to worry about, but as was once said "Go forth and sin no more"! and "Oh Lord forgive me for what I am about to do."

Job Number 32551 = 1932 Chevrolet coach.

Body Number J 9912 = Janesville, Wisconsin factory, 9,912th coach built in that factory in 1932.

Trim Number 10 = No such number. Trim numbers for 1932 started at number 15. Check that number again to make sure that you wrote it down correctly. The two trim numbers for the 1932 coach were number 16 and number 20. If your coach actually has a trim number of 16, the interior was a gray mohair with a pattern, and the door panels were plain gray mohair.

Paint number 19 = That doesn't exist either for 1932. Paint numbers for 1932 started at 89 and ran through number 125. Paint number 19 is for a 1929 Sport Coupe. Recheck your number.

3219486 = 1932 engine serial number and the engine was cast on January 13, 1932 (1 13 2).

3203485 = 1932 engine serial number and the engine was cast on June 23, 1932 (6 23 2).

836573 = Casting number for the 1932 cylinder block.
