I just purchased a 55 Belair Convertable, could anyone advise me on who supplies the best quality original interiors, tops and carpet? I used Al Knox for other Corvette restorations but they don't offer Belair interiors. I'll need to purchase a red & beige interior and beige top if I can believe my trim tag. Thanks

You might want to check with "Classic Chevy International" in Orlando, Fl. They have a great catalog called 'Big Red'. \:D \:D

http://www.classicchevy.com/

I got the complete kit for my '57 convertible and it fit great. \:D \:D

CARS in Michigan is the supplier for everyone, even CCI. There was another outfit Ciadellas in AZ, but I think they are gone.
good luck!

My Dad just purcahsed a 62 Impala 327 convertable 3 weeks ago out of Indy. Nice car but I wish it was a 409 like yours, but for a 74 year old guy he loves it! Do you have any more info on CARS I tried to find a web site and used search engines but come up empty. Do you know who may carry a 65 Impala oil pan? I'm hold this pan changed in 65 and may help with a clearance problem I have with the drag link. Where in NY are you near? Thanks Terry

Sure, CARS (248) 398-7100 or http://www.CARSINC.com. I also have a 327 250 HP 62 Biscayne I am about half way with now. All the sheetmetal is done, and I finished all of the mechanical work, just have to do the first start-up. I hope to have it ready in the next two years.
Later, John

Hi John,

CARS and Ciadella are one and the same outfit.

For the carpeting I would recommend ACC over anyone else.

Good luck with the new project!!

LOL - are those valve cover scripts painted???

Ollie I had a problem with the carpet from ACC for my 60. They use a 59 pattern, in 59 the tunnel area was larger, I got a real loose sloppy fit, real noticeable on the four speed cars. When did CARS nd Ciadella merge? I know they were seperate outfits in the early 80's

Hi John,

Yes, I did hear about some sloppy trans tunnels from ACC - I ran into that with my '76 Dooley.

But, they rectified the situation quickly and sent me the correct carpet. \:\)

I do not know when the merger took place between the two outfits - probably at least 5 years ago. If you order a catalog from both companies - when you get them - don't laugh.
They are IDENTICAL.

I wonder if the "C" in CARS means Ciadella? LOL

Happy New Year my friend!!

Ollie, As I remember CARS stood for Can Am Restoration Service, and Ciadella was the first one to offer the interior kits, I would say somwhere around 77-79.
