Hi,

I am looking for the insulation material on the deck lid for a 54 car. Any ideas where to find this stuff?

Thanks

Jim

Thanks again Chipmunk. This was also posted in the 1949-54 forum. I will call Chevs of the 40's, Steele rubber products and the Filling Station.

I have found a similar product from Bob Drakes (ford) \:\( Thanks ;\)

There's a product called Dynamat. Its pricy, but apparently very effective. I'm planning to do my Burb with it. You can read about it at http://www.dynamat.com/ and buy it at http://www.carstereoworld.com/dynamat/dynamain.html
The links did not work, I just modified them.

Jim,

Thank you very much for the information regarding Dynamat. I will check out those sites.

The links above did not work, so I modified them slightly. The first link had a comma after the com and the second one had a period at the end of the sentence (html.) This caused the links to fail.

It took me several tries to fix even though I knew what to change. I am still learning how to perform this internet link stuff.

What did you use to glue it on that didn't eat the paint underneath?

Tiny,

The material was two layers. When I separated them, one side would have a film of adhesive and the other would have nothing. Some sections I used the glue side the others I used 3M weather stripping glue. The 3M product should not harm the paint underneath.

It was not pre-cut. It came in a 3' x 8' roll. I bought it at Waffle Insulation

Thanks
