I want to take a shot at restoring a 1940 California license plate in better than average condition. Part of it is damaged and needs repainting. Does anyone know of the correct yellow color match? Where can I purchase it? Thank you.

Can you get a good clear color area on the plate? Maybe use some rubbing compound, etc to get one area back to the original color.

Then take the plate to the auto paint store and let their computer do a color match for you. They can even make you a spray can of the color.
