Yeah or use your Buck pocket knife, or a straight razor. Keep a good sharp straight razor in your tool box. They are real handy trimming gaskets, top material, scrapeing innertubes to be patched etc........

I found that a tracing of the bar ends on 15# roofing felt and cutting with a utility knife worked well for me, and you can hardly see the gasket when installed.
