goldenpheasant Grease Monkey Registered: 04/25/04 Posts: 28 Loc: Pt. Charlotte, Fl	I purchased a partially restored 1940 1/2 ton P/U. It has an 8 volt battery. The previous owner said it is fine to run with it. He mentioned some type of adjustment he made to the electical system so it would be compatable. Does anyone know what he was talking about? Thanks to all that reply. mark

d2d2 Registered: 01/07/02 Posts: 887 Loc: Albuquerque, New Mexico	The adjustment was probably to the voltage regulator, which uses the system emf (volts) to control the generator charging current in amperes. With an 8 volt battery in the circuit a regulator that is set for only 6.8 volts would see a more than fully charged battery and would reduce the charging current. _________________________ No MIDI file can sound like a real Steinway.
