A buddy of mine has a '31 Model A and he showed me a website that sells DVD's on step-by-step show n' tell instructions on doing brake jobs, repairing carbs, point/condenser swap outs, etc.

The DVD's show the guy doing the work and he's explaining what he's doing as he goes along. They're
great!

Does anyone know of something like that available for us Chevy people? If there ain't, it would be a great business to get in to for some enterprising, enerjetic, young guy to get in to. And if you're an old guy and you're enterprising and enerjetic, and you'd like to have a few more bucks to count when you're in the nursing home, here's the perfect business.

But anyway, I got away from the main question and that is does anyone know of something comparable for us Chevy nuts??

I dont know of any "DIY" video instructions but have never looked either.
Being a mechanic myself I generally only need a list of relevent specifications for the vehicle. The procedure is the generally the same for all vehicles even though the parts look different.

Tony:

I would really be a great thing for somebody like me. I'm pretty mechanically inclined. But I'm nervous about taking something apart(like brakes)only to find out I didn't order some little thing like a 25 cent washer thats going to hold me up for another week. Although I would really like to do a complete brake job on my '31 this is what is preventing me from doing it.
Got any suggestions?

Someone else on this site suggested and I now repeat, get a digital camera take a photo before you take a each part off. That way when you go to put it back together you will know what it should look like by going through the pics in reverse.
If you want print them out but no real need as the camera will hold more pics than there are parts in the brakes on 4 wheels.
Above all dont be in a hurry, it is not a race brakes are about safety.

Tony--That's a great idea. I wish I'da thunk of it!!

And yes, absolutely, brakes are about safety and that is my primary concern. Besides, if I hurry, I know for sure I'll gum it up!

Thanks again for the tip.
