I have photos and literature showing that the hose clamps were of the flat "double strap" type from 1929 through 1932. \:D

Skippy- you could be correct as I haven't looked at my older film strips for some time I seem to remember the wire type like the 1934-36 used (from G&D engine pictures -factory provong ground photos)
Is it possible tha both were used???

Yes, it's possible. The confusing issue is that I have some filmstrips from 1928 that shows the wire type of clamp, and then a bunch of films from 1929-32 that shows the flat double strap type of hose clamps. Then, as I remember, I think that I have a 1929-32 film or two that shows the wire type of clamp as well. However, the 1929-32 literature predominantly shows the flat double strap in most cases. \:D \:D

How many sizes of wire hose clamps were used? I have three different sizes that were removed from an old Chevy dealership several years ago. I never knew if they were original or aftermarket.

The size to fit the 1 1/4" upper hose and 1 1/2" lower hose (1935-36) , plus a heater hose size would have been all that would be required for a Chevrolet...I also have a box full of the clamps -three sizes-from a old dealership.

The 1934-36 trucks used both the flat and the two wire hose clamps. I have literature and photos of new cars/trucks that show both types. All the pictures of the car/truck oil temperature regulator accessory show the two wire clamps. My low milage 1934 PB dump truck has the two wire clamps (Flint asm.) I bet Chevrolet had two vendors for the clamps.

Chevgene is right (as always!) and I've used the two-wire clamps on my '35 Master. Problem is, I can't get them to stop weeping, especially at the corroded steel elbow between the lower radiator outlet and the water pump. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to seal the hose to elbow connection? There's not much meat left on that thin-wall elbow to make a smooth surface.

Easy way is to replace the elbo. Available from many vendors.

Correct! I posted the above information for those dudes that are reading this thread who own a 1929-34 car or truck (35 pick up man apparently has a 1934 dump truck). ;\) \:D \:D \:D

Coachill let me look through my spare parts I think I have a few extra 35 elbows. My 34 dump truck still has the original hoses with the Chevy emblem on them and the elbow still has the "Black" paint on it along with the two wire clamps. Thanks anyway "Big Dog"

'35 pickup man:
Thanks for looking...the key is the 1.5" outside diameter. This elbow was the universal fit for all models, '35 through '40. Let me know what you find.

After talking with Chevguru and owners of 4 cylinder cars at the Central Meet in Friday. I have learned that the 2 wire hose clamps are correct for 20-27 Chevrolets. Are they correct for older Chevrolets?
