The piston rings that I ordered and received for my 1934 Master turned out to be a NORS set of Hastings Piston Rings. I am unsure about the order that the parts for the oil control ring are installed on the piston. There are the two steel rails, the spacer, and a ring that looks like a steel rail with a spacer welded to it. Can anyone tell me how this steel rail/spacer portion is installed?

I have a set of Hasting rings. There is a cast oil ring with slots in it.It has an area that contacts the cylinder wall-the part that contacts the wall goes to the top of the ring grove (most cast rings have the top and bottom area that contacts the wall with the slots between-this has only the top with the center slotted part)The thin spacer or wiper ring fits on the bottom and the zig-zag tension spring fit behind all - to exert pressure on the ring for better cyl. wall contact.Does this sound the same as yours??The ring packages say "steel vented rings"
