fred Shade Tree Mechanic Registered: 03/02/02 Posts: 50 Loc: Nevada City, CA	My '61 P/U has the original 235 CI engine. I fouled up and cracked the intake manifold when reassembling it. It is marked #3764644 with "GM" indicated beneath the part number. Please tell me - do I need to replace it with this exact part #?. Will other intake manifolds fit? Which ones? Chev Nut Registered: 01/08/02 Posts: 14900 Loc: West Allis,Wi.	There are two intake manifolds that will fit your truck.Casting #3835590 which fit a 1950-58 235 car or truck or the 3764644 which was used on 1959-62 235 engines.The later version is a bit more low slung to allow the carburetor to fit under the lower hoods of the 1959-62 passenger cars.The truck has a higher hood so either will work just fine. _________________________ Chevgene

According to my Hollander's Interchange manual, casting number 3764644 was the intake manifold used for all downdraft carburetors on 1959-1961 235 passenger & Delivery and 1959-1962 trucks with both 235 & 261 I-6 engines. -Bob _________________________ -BowTie Bob
