Putting a rebuilt carb into my 46 Chevy pickup (216 engine). Everything is working out well so far except I can't figure out where to connect the manual throttle cable to the carb. I see the bracket to clamp the outside of the cable but am unclear where to connect the rod that's inside cable. Accelerator linkage all hooked up and working. Throttle cable was not hooked up on old carb so I'm in the dark.
Thanks for your help.

Not the best picture, but you can see the choke wire coming into the carburetor horizontally and the throttle wire coming in vertically. The throttle wire is held in the clamp near the top of the carburetor and the wire goes through the hole in the throttle rod from down below. Then a cable lock is mounted on the end of the wire so it will not come out when pulled.

Ray- many thanks for your help. Quick question: I assume you mean the hole in the throttle rod linkage up beside the carb, not down below by the oil pan. (Mine had an old rusty nail holding it together up above). If so, why doesn't it affect the smooth functioning of the accelerator?
Great looking engine bay and GREAT HORNS!

The throttle rod that comes up from the bottom has a 90 degree bend near the end. This rod is placed through the arm from the carb and the throttle cable wire goes through the rod to insure it stays in the carb arm. A cable stop is placed on the bottom of the wire. When the throttle is applied by the foot the arm slides up and down on the choke wire.

This truck has basically all the accessories available.
