What does it involve to change a 216 out with a 350 does it take some major working cuz im trying to keep the truck as original as possible but need more power if anyone can help thanx

It really takes a lot of work and parts probably cutting and welding to change out a 216 to a 350, and you didn't mention the tranny and driveline, etc. any of the inline sixes 235, 261, 292 and the GMC sixes would be able to deliver more power than your 47 with stock suspension needs.

I built two very rapid, stout 216-s one in my 38 and the other in a 51, Maximum bore,purchased aluminum pistons from sears of all places, dual intake manifold, dual exhaust and a mjor reduction of weight on the fly wheel. I think now you can buy an aluminum one. We just took it to a machine shop and told the machinist to stop trimming when he felt it was going to fall apart. Many a flat head F*** and several of the early overhead v-8s saw my tail lights.
