I recently purchased this car.The body has been completely redone and is beautiful.I am trying to restore the car to running condition and I need starter, carb & some of the push rods are bent.I have no idea where to start as this is my first project.Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Try some of the advertisers in the VCCA magazine. Also NAPA may be able to help as I get a lot of parts from them for my 52. Bent push rods are not a good sign, the valves may be sticking as a result of gum an dother build up on the stems. My 52 had two replaced just before I bought it and I found two more bent rods later. I bought replacements from NAPA but the cure was to have the head rebuilt as there were some bad valves in there.

BJ, new pushrods can be purchased from Egge Parts House, along with most other parts you seek. Not a plug just info. Others sources are also avail that one just comes to mind. Sticking valves will definitely cause bent push rods. As Johnny says pull the pan and have a look see at he guts. Inspect the pan bottom for metal debris, and broken parts. http://www.egge.com
