munie Grease Monkey Registered: 06/19/04 Posts: 1 Loc: lancaster, ca	I have a 1977 chevy corvette I believe it has an L48 motor can someone help me out, Is this a 4 bolt main engine. As I need a new engine and don't know if it is a 4 bolt main or not.Also will a 350 go into this car without any problems? Also can some one tell me if the transmission is a 350 or 400. Thanks for your help. Munie

novasscott Backyard Mechanic Registered: 12/16/01 Posts: 235 Loc: Lindenhurst, Illinois	Munie, sorry to be late on this but, according to my references the '77 L-48 was a two bolt main. The L-82 was a four bolt. Both engines had the Turbo 400 for automatic. The ID number should be on the side of the bottom pan of the trans while the 350 had the number on the side of the case.
