I have a 1 1/2 ton Chevy truck. I think it is a '32 model, but not shure. Can I find out the year from the serial number plate? I am missing a number or two since somewon in the past drilled a hole through the center of the plate. It is a 6 cyl.

Does it have an updraft or down draft carburetor? Solid or disc wheels with oblong holes? Are the instruments round? With flat or convex glass lenses? Does it have a ventilator door in the top of the cowl? How many instruments in the dash? Does it have metal or cardboard door panels? Does it have "T" shape for "L" shaped outside door handles?

Rusty, your truck is a 1932 ND series 157" wheelbase 1 1/2 ton with dual wheels. It was assembled at Janesville Wisconsin in Sept. 1932.

d2d2, you say that it is a 1932 ND 1 1/2 ton. What does the ND stand for? Do you know what size tires this truck should have on it? It now has 750-20's but they rub the front fender wells when you turn short. I think it should have 650-20's. Thanks

The correct tires for the 1932 series ND 1 1/2 ton truck were 30 x 5.00. \:D \:D \:D

Rustytruck, ND is part of a consecutive series; for late '31 it's MA & MB for 131" w/b, MC & MD for 157" w/b. For 1932 it's NA & NB for 131" w/b , NC & ND for 157" w/b, NC for single wheel and ND for dual wheels.
For 1932 157" w/b trucks the job numbers are:
314 - Platform Standard
315 - Stake
316 - High Rack
317 - Stake Express
318 - Farm Truck
362 - Platform Express

d2d2, these may sound like crazy questions, but how do I know the job number of my truck? From what you are telling me, the job number will tell me the bed type I should have.

Can anyone tell me what the bell crank assembly for the throttle cable from the dash to carb looks like or have any pictures. Also when is the best place for carb parts? The hole in my main jet is worn to about twice the size of the metering rod. Runs a little rich.
Thanks

I can only remember seeing one truck job number and that was on a '31 panel delivery. It was on the front of the dash (firewall) on the passenger side. JunkYardDogJunkYardDog or ChevyChip would probably have a better answer.
For W 1 carburetors and parts contact Doyle Stokes at doylestokes33aacoxnt.

d2d2, I think your right. Under the hood on the right side of the firewall. You will find a tag with the Job number and Paint Number.

I have never seen a 1932 truck with the Job Number or Paint Number. I have a really nice 1932 Series ND truck cowl with the original plates still in place (along with the original pin striping as well). Both plates are on the lower passenger side of the cowl and one plate has the truck's serial number and series and the other plate has the weight specifications. \:D \:D \:D \:D

Well, I will take a look at the cowl. I don't remember seeing any other plates on the truck. Where would be a good place to get pictures or ideas for bed for my 32 ND. Can you guys suggest some good books?

The job numbers are not on any of the id plates. They are used in the parts books as a code for the model and body. It helps keep the listings shorter. They are also used in some sales literature, factory orders, etc.

The tag I found in a 1931 panel delivery reads:
467 110 31260. This tag is 3 1/2" x 1 7/8" and appears to have been nailed to the seat frame. 110 is the job number for a '31 panel delivery on a 109" wheelbase.
