docsclassics Shade Tree Mechanic Registered: 05/09/02 Posts: 73 Loc: Madrid Iowa	OK guys I have come across a 59 chevy EL but it has been on the ground for 6 years so the frame is most likely gone so does anyone know what they had under them frame wise ??station wagon ??4dr?? do you think a 60 frame is the same..doc _________________________ doc

wdoftexas Oil Can Mechanic Registered: 12/22/01 Posts: 516 Loc: North Texas	A 1960 frame will work on a 1959 model, it is much improved. It has the solid bulkhead for the upper control arm to attach to rather than the short bracket that the 1959 frame had. I rebuilt a 1959 ElCamino several years ago and used the frame from a 1960 Impala 4 door hardtop.It had one extra body mounting bracket on it that ElCamino didn't have, I just left it on but it can be easily removed. If you look in any of the early 60s parts books it will show the 60 frame as a replacement for the 1959 model. _________________________ wdoftexas
