58 Impala...Brakes were a little low, so decided to put on new shoes. Installed new shoes...adjusted..bled.
Still no pedal..put trans(pwrglide) in neutral(like manual said)...pumped up...started engine (348)...pedal went to floor to destroy vacuum in line...But after return, still hardly any pedal, just enough to stop car in driveway(leery of putting on road).
All hoses seem ok.........Don't know what else to check.
Any ideas please...need help.
Thanks

Would do two things over again-readjust the shoes-and- bleed the brakes.Use proper sequence in bleeding-as per manual.

With vac. exhausted-engine not running-pedal will be higher than with vacuum -engine running......but not hit the floor .

Hi Cherokee,

If the brakes are adjusted properly (tighten till the drum will not turn - then back off 7-9 clicks)
then verify that you have no air in the lines.

Which master cylinder do you have?
Bendix or Moraine? The Moraine unit is cast iron, the Bendix is aluminum.

If the brakes were bled properly, and the pedal is non existant - the power unit will require an overhaul.
