Look at the new Impala ad where they try to use the fast shots of a 59 to try to sell this impersonal jap looking car, look real close at the interior shot of the 59, it has the wrong interior, it looks like a 63 back seat. I don't want to get down on the car, but this car is not an Impala, if they called it a Chevelle, or Nova it might work, but it really does not have the Impala image, just the name and that is the only thing that is retro about it. But look close I think it was the second or third flash of the 59 in the ad.

John, I noticed the stuff you related to, I just considered the source Hollywood's smoke and mirrows, they seldom ever ask an expert, like us. LOL, usually some retired Executive of Nash or Honda!

Photo cars are RARELY correct. The people that make these decisions are following a directive - but purists are never consulted.

Now, the analogy about a retired Honda exec picking cars???

Last I looked, Honda was kicking Chevys butt in sales - so maybe that was a bad association.

John, if you think the Impala is a "disgrace" (so do I), did you see the Bel Air concept car??? A continuation of the miserable designs of New GM products...

As I say, the good chevys had BLUE bowties...

I hate to admit it, but Ford did a great job with the T-Bird, it is real retro

Of course I`ll have to disagree with that! ;\) The Nova name was forever tarnished in the 80`s with that rebadged Corolla POS,so please GM not again! I think they should use the names of "old crap" for the "new crap" if they feel nostalgic. How about Chevette or Vega? Yeah that fits!!!!!

I did not mean anything bad about Nova's, just that this car is a little small to be an Impala, as they are known It's not really a bad car, drove nice, quite, but it is just to small.
