Hi gents,
Please help.
My temp gauge started rising with increase in rpm and in a few minutes blew the 'standard' fuse which most of us have installed on the starter. I replaced the fuse, which blew again after a few minutes.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated

I would look for a wire shorted to the temperature gauge tubing.

I think that Floats has a 1929 so his temperature gauge would be electric.

Floats: When posting questions always tell us what year car you are asking about so that we will give you the correct answer based on your year of vehicle.

Apologies Gents,
Yep, a 29 with electric temp gauge. Checked that the temp wire was not shorting out, took it for a drive and realised the altenator was overcharging. Increasing rpm from slow idle flicks the amp needle from negative to hard over indicating 20 +.
Any comments?

Thanks gents,
Problem solved by replacing faulty voltage regulator.

Glad you got it solved. Diagnosing thousands of miles away not always the best. Hands and eyes on is always better.
