What were the options for trunk liner material in 63? My Impala has foam backed material in the bottom well and on the sides near the inner fenders. The stuff is dirty and smelly and I'm looking to replace them (three pieces) with original.

The 1963 Facts book says foam mat on bottom only and that is what I recall.
When Verne sees this he will have a more positive answer.

The '63 Impala (non convertible) came with the three pieces you mentioned. Biscayne and Belair just got the one in the well. The original material was, as you said, a foam backing and a woven material on top. That material is not available in reproduction. You'll have to settle for the printed vinyl mats that are available.

You might also find NOS material but if you do, I'd buy lottery tickets fast.

Correction to my last: The Biscayne had no mat. I had a busy day and had other things on my mind. Sorry.

My curiosity is now up. I currently have the three pieces in my convertible, is that correct? Thanks Mike

Impala series three pieces, except for convertible there is no mat where the spare mounts, belair just the lower well, and biscayne none at all

The original post mentions rear inner fenders. If I remember corectly the material was on the bottom of the well and the upper horizontal (flat) surfaces and nothing on the "inner fenders" ie - the wheel housings.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about the flat trunk floor sections next to the inner quarter panels Gene.

Also of note is that early production '61 convertibles had the spare mounted on the upper shelf, in which case they had the three mat pieces. Later in production the spares were mounted on the right hand trunk shelf next to the quarter, so those cars only had the two mat pieces.
