Guys,

I just noticed that my filler nut is missing on top of my master cylinder reservoir for my 1940 Chevrolet Business Coupe. I tried ordering a part from The Filling Station but it was too large. Can anyone tell me what size nut this is? It seems almost impossible to find. Thanks!

I don't know the thread. It's vented and requires a 1" socket to remove (on my '38). If it'll fit I think I have one on an old MC in the garage. It'll be tomorrow before I get the chance to look.

If it is a GM Delco it has 18-3/4 threads. It is vented so a real correct nut must be used.

I'll check and let you know tomorrow. You might check ebay for a complete used master cylinder. That's likely the only way you'll find a cap.

Hi Tim,

I have a plug for sale from a Delco Master Cylinder. I checked it with two others and they are all the same. I will sell it to you for $10.00, which includes shipping. It has been media blasted and is ready for installation. No rust pitting.

Send me a PM if you want a picture or are interested in buying it.

Thanks, Mike
