Any info on the length, diameter etc and wrong routing from the steering mast?
Thanks,
Wes

Wes,
The horn wire conduit is 14 inches long and is used from the area of the generator up between the manifolds to the horn. The wire that connects to the mast jacket bushing wire is part of the main bundle that lays in the frame along side of the engine. Does this help?
Jim Carter and The Filling Station have the horn wire conduit. I supply them.

Mike

I received the Conduit from The Filling Station and it looks great!
Thanks for the tip.

Does it route left across the horn bracket or some other direction?

I think the terminals should be low on the engine side. The wires come up from the generator, behind the intake manifold, to connect. The conduit protects the wires from the heat of the exhaust manifold.
Let me know if this does not make sense to you.

Wesb, I scanned this from the June 1983 Generator and Distributor. It is a factory photo. On my computer, I am able to enlarge the photo, and I can see things in very good detail. Maybe you can copy it to yours and be able to enlarge it. It looks like the horn wire goes between the generator and engine block before it goes into the conduit. The conduit appears to be secured by a thin metal retainer under one of the water pump bolts. That is also how the '34 Master's horn wire is routed. You can also see the horn wire exiting at the bottom of the mast jacket. Note the grease fitting on the steering box.

Also notice that the oil filler tube is painted engine color.

Are those wire type clamps on the top rad. hose? Was that type used on all the hoses? What about the band type? When were those used?

You can save the photo directly from Chevy Chatter. Right click on the photo and then click on "Save Image As" on the drop down menu. You can then save the image to your desktop or to your pictures folder.

thanks Chip.

Does the main wire harness run along the frame or the engine block and then behind the gen., any grommet to prevent cutting the horn wire as it exits the mast?
