I have a 63 Impala with a 327, It has been converted to a 1 wire alternator and the original wiring has been hacked. I am having a draw off of the horn relay and it keeps killing the battery. Does anyone know the proper way to bypass this relay? I am told it feeds power to everything. They completely cut off the wires for the voltage regulator. The horn relay has 1 wire from the battery, 2 wires going to the ignition switch (always hot), One wire going to the horns, and 1 wire going to the column. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not knowing how bad the wiring is hack the first thing I would want to know is do the horns work? If not I would check the wire that goes to the column to see if it is grounded, that would keep the relay energized and could be your draw. That would also have both of the larger terminals hot all the time.

Both large terminals on the relay are hot at all times, The horns do not sound when pressed.
