Why is it called 'after dark'

Does anybody know where I can get the bolt that secures the spare tire hold down bracket for my '48 Sport Coupe? Or what thread it is? Thanks!

Do you just need the bolt? I have all the parts for the entire assembly.

Thanks, Mike

Thanks for your response, but neither of these looks like mine; the bolt threads into the trunk floor. The spare sits flat like is done in the convertible.

The bolt is used in 1941-1948 coupes as well as 1937-1940 cars It has a 7/16 20 thread and is 2 3/16"ong
the clamp is also used on 1941-1948 coupes as well as 1937 cars and 1938 and 1939 coupes.

Does the bolt have a special head (similar to a lug nut) or does it resemble a standard off the shelf bolt. I am using an off the shelf bolt in my convertible. Thanks Mike

The head is taller so you can get the lug wrench on it easier. Also very plain and smooth.

just a simple comment from an outside observer.

i do declare! it seems that you princes can't figure out what holds you spare tire in place. Mercful heaven.

I know you in this forum don't have much to talk about but this simple item seems a given to me. There is one for the coupe and one for the sedan. This right here ain't no rocket science.

i suggest you have a round table and ask Guinevere what she thinks/ Might as well, for it seems the kingdom is in dire strates for figuring this problem out.

If some of you had a concret block a-holding the spare in place, you would then claim it came in the car and was correct from the factory. Well, I guess that is a stretch.

just a comment. I know, I know.
