Cattle yard in Kansas 40 years-Tucson 20 plus .not running BUT after 2 years in Phx..IT STARTS today One problem with E-brake shaft rusted in the rear axle.Can the shaft be pulled from inside the hub? Any retension clips in the rearend? Thanks for the help and past encouragement. Bill

I believe there are only two things that will prevent the rod from pulling out through from the hub side: the emergency brake lever and a clamp that is on the rod. This clamp is on the outside of the brake back plate and keeps the rod from moving horizontally. The clamp is circled in red in the pic below.
There is no clip on the emergency brake rod inside the differential.
