John 348/340HP Registered: 12/16/01 Posts: 1448 Loc: Glen Cove, NY	I am doing an engine for a fellow member for his 55 vette. His goal is to earn all of the National Awards in all of the clubs with this car when it is done. I am having a problem locating the correct intake gaskets . I can get the 57 and up 283 set, and they look right as far as a repro goes it is dead on. They will not workon a 265 $\:$$ , go figure. I thought it would work with a little effort by taking 40thou off the lower edges where the corner base of the intake meets the head an block area, no good I run into other geometry problems then WITH ALL OF THESE OVER RESTORED BETTER THAN NEW 5-7 CARS GETTING TRAILERED AROUND THEY ALL CAN NOT HAVE THE BLUE FELPRO'S ON THEM!!!!!! Speedline Backyard Mechanic Registered: 12/30/01 Posts: 270 Loc: Too far from the ocean	Hi John- Corvette Central has a 1X4 1955-56 Intake Gasket set listed for $21.20. The 57-62 set they list is the correct gray color.. doesn't specify color on the early set. Give them a call at 1-800-345-4122. SPEEDLINE _________________________ "Life is completer in a boat!"
