HI, I am a 30 year old vintage VW enthusiast, currently working on a 67 sunroof sedan with a 2160cc turbo EFI engine. Should be done by spring, God willing! However, I just got my first vintage American car-a barn find 1947 Sedan Delivery. It has been sitting in a barn for over 30 years, is pretty complete and excepting the floors is quite solid. It is a Stylemaster which has me somewhat intrigued as I have found no info on Stylemaster Sedan Deliveries. Anyone where I can find more info on my car, as well as restoration help (some engine parts were removed and stored in the car at some point). Also, how does a 47 Chev like mine-straight 6, 3 spd, drive? I'd like to tackle this project when my VWs done. Is this worthwhile, or should I just sell it and buy that VW Bus project I've been wanting?! Thanks!!

All 1947 sedan deliveries were the Stylemaster series. This was the lowest priced line in 1947.Most Chevrolet SALES literature lists the sedan delivery with the trucks.
The most helpful books you could find would be the 1942-48 Passenger car shop manual,1947 passenger car and truck Engineering manual , and the 1947 Truck sales brochure-all available in reprint for a reasonable price from...www.fillingstationcm...they also have a catalog with more items.
They drive like any car thats over 50 years old.In the stock form will drive comfortably at 50-60 MPH-but require more " space" around modern high speed traffic.
