I am reassembling my 48 Areo sedan after 10 years. Anyone out there know what the OD of the fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump? Also what fittings are used at the tank & at the fuel pump flexible hose? As I remember the fuel line runs along the frame with the brake line right? I should be able buy the parts at NAPA.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Tom

5/16" 135 1/2" long cut from tubing roll from group 8.963 The parts manual shows both flared and compression fittings, I didn't see any particular one fitting for your car, I use compression fittings where I am able.
I have bought straight steel fuel lines from NAPA with flares and flare nuts in various lengths, to me it is easier to do a neat close fitting job using the compression fittings, (the ones with a brass ferrel and a brass or steel compression nut), you can cut to exact length and with the ferrel inside the nut just start the nut and then slip the slick tubing in the fitting all the way , then tighten the nut forming a seal with the ferrel on the tubing. It seems to me the compression fittings are easier to remove and retighten when a fuel pump needs to be replaced (IMHO).

Thanks guys I'can't believe that a flexible line is not used between the fuel pump & the steel line with the torquing and vibration of the engine.
Thanks again guys,
Tom
