This is my first try with a post. I would like to know where the vin# on a 47 chevy coupe is located. I'm looking at one out of state and have tried to get the owner to send me the number so I could have it checked before negoiating the sale.Any help would be appreciated.

Location of Serial & Vehicle identification plate should be located on the right hand side (passenger) on door hinge pillar post.
Some vehicles can still be found using the engine number for title purposes. That number if original engine can be found on lower block aft of Distributor (machined surface with numbers stamped on face)
