Hi Gents-
Can someone help me identify this Accessory heater. I always thought it was a 1937 passenger, but now I'm not sure. Were there knobs on the doors of a 37? Any difference between truck and car? 37 and 38? Thanks Guys.

This looks like the heater I have in my '37 Chev Master Deluxe, which I think was originally installed with the car, probably by the dealer. The car is in the barn for the winter so I can't go quickly check. Sorry.

This heater is definitely correct for 1940 Chevrolets. This heater is shown in the 1940 accessory booklet. In 1940 there were 2 heaters that fit on the firewall, the Super Deluxe heater and this one that you have displayed, a 1940 De-luxe heater.
It is NOT correct original equipment for 1941. I do not know about 1939 or earlier on this heater.

The heater shown in the photo is 1940 only! Both 1939 and 1941 are different. Also, according to the literature that I have, in 1940 both the cars and the trucks used the same heater. The same is true for the accessory heaters used from 1937 thru 1939 as well.

Thanks Guys! Someone suggested earlier that it would be helpful to have a site with pictures of the correct accessory heaters available over the years. I have an illustrated 1950 Accessory dealercatalog (144 pages!) that I will be happy to share information from if anyone is interested.

1937 thru 1939 heaters are almost the same except fpr knobs etc,but one way to be sure it is a 1937 heater is by the color. That is the only year they were blue.

For a list of 37 Chevrolet accessories, look at web page </~c1937/accs.htm>>.
