When I had the engine out of my '40 , pre xmas , I noticed that the pilot bearing in the end of the crank was a needle roller style bearing . These are normally a bush , I thought .
Never mind , I cleaned the rust off it and lubed it , polished the tip of the g/box input shaft and fitted it all back up.
Now , as I drive down the road , at maybe 30 or 40 mph , I hear a light tinkling sound from the clutch region .
I'm guessing that the lubed bearing is now loose and floating about a bit .
What are the implications ,if that guess is correct ?
