I have a 1926 Superior Roadster, VIN #3V17021. The tag says Superior K, and it has the spark and throttle at the base of the steering column. I thought all 1926's were Superior V's. What defines a K from a V?

It's a 1926 Model (1926 Selling Season) Superior K Series V, and not a '1927 Selling Season, as from August 1 1926) Superior V Series V. We have discussed this all on a previous thread. The cfar no. indicates a St Louis, Missouri, built V. Serials ran from January 1 1926 # 3V1001 to 83277. 1927 Selling Season (1926 MY) assemblky started in theory August 1 with # 3V-83278 and then ran to 3V-?????. Total production of Vs and Utility Express Series X production ran to 163,068 units.

I have noted that evidednce suggests that the 'Superior K Series V' plates had changed to 'Superior V Series V' by April 1926.
In addition, in 1925 there were the Utility Express Superior K Series M and Superior K Series R! I assume that the 1926 U.E. Series X said Supeeior X Series X?

1926 Superior K, series V it is! Thanks! I would love to know the production numbers for the Roadster in 26, there do not appear too many left.
Again, thanks to all.

Thanks for that in info Chipper. Probably why I can't find one. Those 2 models sure are confusing. Down here in Aus. our Superior V's have a single swage line in about the same position as the bottom 28 swage line, and most were two tone colours. I've also seen a very original unrestored Superior K (no swage line) that was factory (Holdens) body painted in two tone, black over fawn with an orange swage line separating the 2 colours. Chris
