I want to take my manifolds off and sand blast them and paint them Chevrolet engine orange. I cant find any one that makes a engine paint that will hold up to the exhaust heat. They make a gray paint from VHT that is rated for manifolds but no Chevrolet orange. Does anyone know of a very high heat Chevrolet engine orange paint? Thanks

No, but if i were looking to do what you are thinking about I would think about, powder coating or ceramic coating.
Maybe google one or both of these methods and find a place that is close to where you live, Good luck on your adventure !

Don't know of a high temperature powder coating. Regular powder coating would not be a good option as they are formulated to soften and flow at ~ 400 deg. F. The ceramic or stainless coatings would be a better option. Don't know of a tinted stainless but ceramics can be nearly any color.

Well so much for that idea. They don’t have a ceramic coating in the Chevrolet engine orange. I know that Jerry MacNish camaro has process that he sprays like a hot jet of aluminum on the manifolds and then you paint the manifold with like a VHT high heat gray. And east wood has a new ceramic engine paint that is rated for 650 degrees. But in the catalog it say not to use it on exhaust manifolds. I read that the exhaust manifolds can reach 700 degrees in heat. I don’t know, that’s what I read on Bill Hirsch web site.
I am thinking of having Jerry coat them then paint them with the high heat cast iron looking paint that is rated for 1200 degrees then top coat them with the east wood Chevrolet engine paint. It may eventually burn off but at least underneath it will have the cast look. What do you guys think? I know these manifolds were painted when the engines were built and I would like to show my car with Chevrolet engine orange on the manifolds.

No one I spoke with on powder coating has a orange ceramic they have it in the other colors but not orange they claim it has to do with the binder on the orange. But I did find that VHT makes a orange paint that is rated for over 1200 degrees , so I am going to take them off and blast them and use that paint.
