amp guage on my 46pickup with 8 volt battery in it bounces around, engine reved up stays steady on charge. is this because of 8volt battery ? thanks ken

Yes...8 volt requires messing with your voltage regulator to make things kosher...in other words...DON'T DO IT ! Go back to your 6 VOLT BATTERY and work from there on CONNECTIONS ...then starter...etc...Please Tell us why you decided to install an 8 volt battery and we'll try to smooth things out....Kevin

thanks for reply, i didnt install 8volt it came to me that way.i called previous owner about it and he said there mechanic said to do it. i know i cant keep 8 volt charged getting fed up with it, ken

I agree with keven47, go back to the 6-volt battery and fix the problem, if there was one.
