I just bought a 1921 490 4 door sedan. Very nice shape but I know nothing about this old of a car. I have restored a 1973 442 and did most the work myself, but this car has me baffled. I am trying to set the gears on the crank and cam. When the (front)number 1 piston is at t.d.c. the key has the gears off the timing marks. Any help in putting this together would be great. Is there a book on the assembly of the motor and car its self. Thanks, Paul

The first recommendation is to purchase a reprint of the Owners Manual and the Repair Manual. It is a bit complicated to explain the alinement of the gears, but the pictures in those manuals make it simple. The reprints are available from the Filling Station.
