I fiddled with this the other day to find the "off" and on "points" and to adjust accordingly. Then later, I realized that the handbrake applies the service brakes. Does that mean the stoplights are on when the handbrake is on? Or is there a point in the adjustment where the brakes go on but the lights don't?

I suspect the setup is the same as the 33. When you apply the handbrake the tail-lights come on------until you turn the ignition key off. (Assuming the car is wired correctly).

If I had known that growing old would be this much fun---I'd have done it sooner!

That's how my 33 switch works.

If you need a switch I have a new one.....and yes the pedal goes down when the hand brake is applied but the ignition has to be in the on position for the lights to work.

Thanks Gene, I have one in the car that appears to work. I also have the original which sat outside for 50 years. I'll keep your offer in mind.

I am glad to hear that from pros like Ray and Gene. I have wondered about that since I rebuilt my 33 from a basket case years ago. I thought I must be missing a spring because my pedal goes down with the E-brake and turns on the brake light. I have it wired wrong because it doesn't go off with the switch. I will correct that. I just had to remember to pull the pedal up with my toe. lol
Thanks guys,
