Problem one was one tail light did not light. Solved. Took the disconnect (looks like fuse holder) apart and lightly filed the contact, reconnected. Problem two. One headlight did not come on with low beam. Neither on high beam. Thought the dimmer was bad. Solved. Took out the dimmer switch and noticed the top terminal had a embossed "B" at its base. According to Y&Z sheet this should be a '47 switch. Anyway, simply rewired and now still had no low on the left. Checked with voltmeter, had juice. So off to Bumper to Bumper because I knew they carry Wagner brand. Back in April or so when I put the front end on I ordered two headlight from COT40's. I received Wagner,so wanted them to match. Well they did not have a 6 volt in stock, but could have today. The # on the bulb was 6006 40/50w. When I went by today and picked up the light I opened the box to see if it looked the same. Well, not even close. Looking at the front it had a slight milky look. Not crystal clear as the other. The back side is metal with plastic surrounding the electrical tabs. Checked the # on the box, H6006. The guy said every time he entered the # from the book it superseded to H6006. So I decided to take it home anyway a give it a try. Man am I glad I did. Put it in and pulled the switch. WOW, what a difference. The "H" must be Halogen, even though it does not say so. It is close to twice as bright as the other. A nice "white" color. Of cource I went back and ordered another. If any of you are still 6 volt I highly recommend you give this bulb a try. Hard to really tell but I took a pic. The car is only 24" from the wall, barely enough room to get around. This is low beam. Hint, H6006 on left. So, all known problems, solved. Not ready to see it will turn over and start yet. Slow but steady.
