Found a 302 from a military truck and thinking about looking at it to put in my 37,it will need some radiator modifications to make it fit but would make the 37 scoot.
I got a 41 GMC Cabover Firetruck, old Army Air Corps crash truck. Anyway, when I bought it they told me the big 6 cylinder was a 305CID but I suspect its a 302 like your talking about? Sounds like a project, Aaron

I have not heard of a "chev 302", but frord 300 6 cyl & 302 V8 is a different story. Chev 305 werent very common here but the 307 was a bit more popular until we developed the 308. Tony

The GMC 302 or whatever C.I. it was is a good hotrod inline six engine. A Chevy 292 inline six truck engine is another good one, the 292 replaced the 261 after 1962 and it is longer than a 261, I have seen a 292 with a four barrel carb.

The 302 is about 2 inches longer then the Chevy so since I spent good money on a radiator I dont think i want to mess it up shoving it forward so I will most likely wait for a 261 or a early Olds V8 but it was tempting since I dont see the 302s very often.
