I need a set of drip rail moldings for 69 Chevelle 2 door hardtop with vinyl top (moldings are wider for vinyl top). Reproduciton moldings are offered for cars without a vinyl top, but not for one with a vinyl top. If someone could provide an original GM part number for these parts, I would have a better shot at finding them. Can anybody help? I posted this in the parts wanted section also.

Thanks,
Sid

Sid,
I believe the part you are looking for is called a Scalp.

My '73 parts books shows under Group 12.075

68-69 Malibu, S.S. (Spt. Cpe.) w/vinyl top
69 Chevelle (Deluxe)(exc. 4-Dr Sed.) w/vinyl top 7753596 R.H. 6.10 SCALP

68-69 Malibu, S.S. (Spt. Cpe.) w/vinyl top
69 Chevelle (Deluxe)(exc. 4-Dr Sed.) w/vinyl top 7753597 L.H. 6.10 SCALP

Hope this helps.

I was hoping that with the GM part numbers, some Chevy dealer in some little town would have a set in inventory. No such luck (We did a nationwide search). I'll start checking salvage yards. Odds are slim, but worth looking. Finding parts for this Chevelle project has been easy compared to finding parts for my '31 Chevrolet. I know someone has them. Thanks for the help guys.

Joe, have you tried Classic Muscle in NC. They supplied most of the new stuff I've bought. They prices are lower than most, and they charge the actual shipping price instead of a bunch of handling fees, etc. They are also a Chevy dealer.

Thanks Joe, the '31 is complete and has done very well on the show circuit. It took 3 years full time to build it, but it was worth it.
