The L30 for 1968 was rated at 275hp for the Camaro. There is no RPO number for smokeless ash tray. There is a RPO number for a lighted ash tray. The clock was offered as an RPO or a dealer add on. I can ask CRG if they have a total number on console clocks for a 68 if you wish...Joe

Thanks Joe, appreciate your help, it look like a small vacuum line but it must be for transpodic illumination as light must travel through. The console has a special top plate to house the clock and is designed for the console and there is a factory wire harness that comes out of the main loom the the correct plastic connector

Checked it out last night, there is a small 1/8" plastic tube that attaches to the top ashtray holder and it is in the factory loom and terminates by the Vacuum side of the wiper motor with a tee. This was not dealer installed or it would not be in the original factory loom

Have one more question, what is the correct center cap for a 68 RS Camaro? I have the tall center caps used on my rally wheels but feel they should be flat caps

Their are actually 3 different cap available for your rally wheels. The tall cap which where used on Corvettes and Monte Carlos. The early rally wheel caps ave a small raised center cap that is about 1/2" tall. I've seen them with the words "chevrolet" and also seen them with "disc brakes". The third style is referred to as a "police cap". It is a flat cap with a bow tie logo and stripes. I'm not positive how what years these were used, late 60's for sure. Don
