I have a 33' Eagle Cabriolet, I need \:\) (would like)pictures of what my car could look like. I have an old black and white of a Roadster. I need some motivational pictures for myself as well as my wife. She keeps thinkin that I'll wake up and come to my senses. I saw a picture of a nice looking 33 cabriolet that was said to be from Pennsylvania. I believe it was a green car, with stock looking wire wheels.

Just to give a brief descrition of my car,I brought it home from the estate sale in a 4x8 trailer. \:D I have most all of the hard to find, or impossible to find parts. I'm going to try to return the car to stock with modern upgrades. Drivetrain will definitely be a chevy six but I'm most likely going to go with a Turbo 350 with either a Genie shifter or a Lokar, so I can keep the appearnce of a stick car. This is about as far as I've got with ideas. That's why I would like to see pictures of peoples cars, inside as well as outside.

My stomach churns when I hear a plan like that.

How could you possibly find fault with Norm Smith's Eagle?

33ragtop,

I hope the folks here post a bunch o' great pics for you...maybe when you & your spouse see how beautiful your vehicle was (could be) when it left the factory, you might reconsider and keep it all stock...

good luck with your project,

epi

That cabriolet is too rare to make into a restro-rod. You should consider keeping the car all stock instead. \:\( \:\( \:\(

Amen, to keeping it original. I have some good pics of a 33 roadster but not Cabriolet--wish I did so I could start the conversion of ideas.

I certainly would like to keep it as stock as possible. Unfortunately about all I have of the car is the cowl, fenders, rear, both doors, hood, front and rear bumpers in short most all the sheet metal. Plus a few odds and ends like radio, speaker, heater, windshield, top bows, a real basket case but definitely doable. I plan on using the original guages in the dash,I also have an original steering wheel.
I'm only going to supplement where necessary. I'm thinking that I can always add original pieces as I get them? I'm getting the urge to see my car all mocked up. At the same time I don't want to do anything that can't be undone later. Any pictures of interiors?
Who is Norm Smith?
As you have probaly guessed I did indeed buy Richards car. There certainly can't be many of these cars out there.

There has been quite a few 33 master parts cars come avalibe in your area over the last year or so. You might look around & see what pops up for doner cars as the chassis would be the same for the masters of 1933. There's a guy named Jim Mathias (i probably spelled that wrong)who advertises in the G&D & another guy named Rodney Ellig who are always looking for these cars. I agree with the rest to restore & restore it right. I have a 34 master sedan delivery that was just a body....a cut up body that has gone through some major restoration in the last year or so. I too want to see the car done, but, i don't want to see it as a street rod. I've only come up with 13 of these cars around. That car you have was rare then & even rarer today. Put it back to original. It deserves respect & the honors.....joe

Hi There "33 ragtop":

Welcome to Chevy Chat. I see you just 'signed up' on Saturday. Also, congrats on the 'new' car.

I sent you an email just a few minutes ago. Take a look.

Later.....

Bill.

Sounds like you have lots of goodies there to get you going on a correct and authentic restoration. In contrast, when a friend of mine (and many on Chevy Chatter know him and they have seen his car) started restoring his '37 Chevy cabriolet, all he had was the cowl, the windshiled frame and the rocker panels (as I remember) and from that he built a fantastic, totally stock, original show car! So, from the parts that you already have, you can restore the car to original. That is the only way to go since your cabriolet is one rare breed! ;\) \:D \:D \:D

Is there any way to find out what my car may have had as far as drive train or interior or color? Hey pushrod, are you saying you have a cabriolet? What shape is it in?

Does your cabriolet still have the Fisher Body cowl tag on the face of the cowl under the hood? If so, some of the information regarding color and etc. can be found there. \:D \:D \:D
