Hello,
I have a mystery to solve and hope you can help.
I have had my 57 210 sedan for about a month. I noticed the turn signals were rather slow so I replaced the flasher this week.
They were working just fine and then they quit.
They do cancel for a left hand turn but not a right.
Could the unit in the steering column need replacing?
I checked the fuse, could not tell if there was on in the fuse block for it so I checked them all and they seem to be intact. I checked the front bulbs and seem to be OK.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Even though you replaced the flasher it could still be defective. Try another flasher.

You can also use a multimeter to see if you have current going to the flasher unit. Your problem could also be in the steering column.

When the directional signals quit many times it is a defective flasher causing the problem.

The other older one must have crapped out on me too.
I thought the same but having the old one that did work when I replaced it must not have wanted to play along.
I bought a better one so maybe this one will last a little longer.
Thanks again.

Did you also take care of the problem with it not cancelling on one side? That is often caused by the plastic piece in the steering column breaking off on one side. It's an easy fix if the part is available. Should be.

Hi Richard,
Yup I think I'm going to have to replace that piece too.
But I got them blinking so I'm pretty happy!
Thanks for the tip.
