Does anyone know where one can purchase the front crank oil slinger? My rebuilt leaks as its missing it. Is there anything else one can subsitute to eliminate the problem or have made. Where one can find a picture of what one should look like?

Thanks

I think I have your part. It is NOS but not in an original package. It was in a paper bag with a parts bin tag bearing the number 836358. This is the correct # for all 1930-34 Chevys. Unfortunately, in the same bag was a tag with 828265 which is the part number for the 37-38 oil thrower.
The catalog says "3/8 high" (the part matches this) but does not give a diameter. The diameter of this part is 2-7/8 inches which does not match the diameter given for the 37-38 part. It is different from some other Chevy oil throwers in that it has an extra step stamped into it. The crankshaft hole appears to be 27/32 inch. If you or some of the gang can verify that this is your part, we are in business. As always, the price goes up once we are sure it is the right part.
Email me direct.

The 1930-34 slinger is 13/16" ID,2 15/16" OD,3/8" width.

The 1937-38 is 1 1/4" ID, 3 1/4" OD and 7/16" width

Chevgene, Are these measurements you have taken?...or from catalog info? I got my measurements from a 29-41 Master Parts Catalog. They differ slightly from yours.

Mine are from the 1929-53 book \:\)

In looking in the 1941 book there are four different ones listed.1929-30,1930-34,1935-36 and 37-39.The 1953 book lists only the 1930-34 under part #836358 -1941 (Aug 1941) book says only 3/8" high and no other demensions--1953 list as being 3/8" WIDTH???must have had a new writer???

If I recall correctly it was eleminated in 1935 as they used a seal. And yet its listed in the 1941 book but not the later ones.

No different than the water pump baffle. The older books list it for 1935-36 and the new books 1935 only - which is correct-guess they finally caught their error

According to the 1934 Chevrolet parts book, the oil slinger (part number 836358) is the same for 1930-34 ALL. The only dimensions given in this book is the height which is 3/8". \:\( \:\( \:\(
